Le Comptoir Michel: drink, eat, listen

Designed as a place to gather, pass through and share, Le Comptoir Michel embodies the unconventional and unique spirit of this house in Burgundy. Noble materials – wood, stone, glass, steel, concrete – echo the contemporary design accents of the décor, giving this shared space a warm, convivial atmosphere.

The vinyl records on hand, the raw wooden tables and the bar counter make it a lively place where people come together to share a moment around the pleasure of meeting up, with good food as the common thread. A glass with a board of local tapas, lunch or dinner, an evening aperitif: whatever the time, Le Comptoir Michel offers all the ingredients for a one-of-a-kind break in Tournus.

Wine bar: a place for sharing and exchange

At Aux Terrasses, a Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant in Burgundy, wine holds a special place: Jean-Michel CARRETTE, passionate about fine bottles and vineyards, has carefully built up over the years a cellar of more than 3,000 references to suit every taste and budget, from almost secret gems to the great classics of France’s wine regions.

Le Comptoir Michel invites you to discover this selection, composed like a sincere score without a single false note. Served by the glass for a tasting moment over a sharing board, or by the bottle to accompany your meal, the wines from the Aux Terrasses cellar can be enjoyed at Le Comptoir Michel, along with a selection of soft drinks and house cocktails for warm moments throughout the day.

Wine & dine: good food to share

Le Comptoir Michel – named in honor of Michel CARRETTE, the chef’s father and former owner of the family inn – offers a menu with something for every craving.

Dishes revisiting the great classics of French and Burgundian cuisine, prepared by the Michelin-starred chef and the kitchen team, local products to discover and tapas inspired by the region (deviled eggs, pâté en croûte…): epicureans will find plenty here to satisfy small or big appetites, and discover the signature of Jean-Michel CARRETTE, who keeps alive here the love of authentic, rural cooking from the chef’s childhood…

Closing soon for renovations, open to ideas!

The hotel and the restaurant will close their doors on 18 October 2026. Three months of building work, dust and plans.

We'll be back with a warmer, more welcoming version of the fine-dining room and the bedrooms you know — and Comptoir Michel, right next door. The cellar wide open, my father's dishes, and plates to share: freer, a little more rough-and-ready.

Reopening around 20 January 2027.

In the meantime, our gift voucher shop stays open: a dinner, a night — give it now, enjoy it when we're back.
